As a student just dipping my toes into the world of SEO for the first time, I started my search for information where any millennial would, Google. Without much background knowledge on SEO, I knew I needed to start reading. I waded through many blogs and different SEO websites, and here are the top 5 SEO blogs you should be reading.
SEOmoz is one of the most respected SEO blogs on the internet. It is constantly updated and has hundreds of posts on SEO. SEOs best practices are constantly evolving, so staying on top of industry news is really important. As a beginner, I appreciate the Beginner’s Guide to SEO which is the perfect starting point for a newbie like me.
2. Search Engine Land
Search Engine Land is a great source of SEO news. It is updated daily and covers topics of SEO, SEM, Local, Social, and more. It is the go to source for daily industry news.
3. Matt Cutts
Matt Cutts works for Google as the head of Webspam team and blogs about anything from Google, and Gadgets to SEO. As SEOs we are primarily optimizing for Google, so you can’t do much better than getting SEO tips and advice than from a Google employee.
4. Search Engine Roundtable
Search Engine Roundtable calls themselves the “pulse of the search community”. Their mission is to provide a single place for a SEOs to read the most interesting threads covered in SEM forums. They search the internet for the most interesting blogs and most respected authors and aggregate the best in one place.
SEOBook is leading SEO blog by Aaron Wall. He offers great advice and marketing tips in the search engine space. SEOBook is the number one SEO training program, so they offer a lot of free tips and strategies on their blog.
The only way to learn more about SEO is to read as much as you can. Set up an RSS feed to keep up with the latest industry news and tips. The more you know, the more you will be able to apply what you are learning on your website and the sooner you will start ranking and seeing progress in your search engine marketing.
